The Pursuit Happyness
June 2nd, 2007. Yesterday was truly a happy day. One of my closest friends took the plunge and got hitched. Yvonne (alias E) I have known each other for 14 years. We met at work but almost instantly we hit it off and I truly believe it was destined for us to be close friends or epic enemies. I say that because our personalities (strengths and weaknesses) are so similar that there will never be any middle ground between us. The past few years for both of us have been pretty trying and most recently Yvonne was dealt a blow that would've knocked me out cold. But true to form Yvonne has been able to smile and yesterday she was all smiles. Yesterday Yvonne in a intimate ceremony attended by family and friends Yvonne was married to the only man strong enough to handle her and it's of no coincidence his (nickname) is Cowboy! In all the years I've known her I've never seen her look prettier. If you know her you understand what I mean If you don't you're thinking "what kind of friend are you", I'll explain. The year Jennifer Lopez wore "THAT DRESS" on the Grammys Yvonne immediately called me and said "I want that dress", if that had been anyone else I've have responded "And people in hell want ice water", but Yvonne could have pulled it off (if we'd have found it). Yvonne has a sense of style (and a size 6 frame!) that is uniquely hers and can rival anyone on TV or a magazine. Shes the woman that turns mens heads and turns some women off, not because she's conceited but because she's comfortable in her skin and that's the sexiest trait ANYONE can have. Yvonne without a doubt has always been sexy but yesterday when she walked out and walked down the isle I saw her in a way I'd never seen her before, pretty. After the ceremony (right before we took the picture) as I was staring at her I noticed she was wearing full face of makeup, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HER LIFE! The most she's ever worn was lipstick, red of course. At the reception I told her I couldn't stop staring at her because I never thought I'd see her in makeup and how pretty she was and true to Yvonne her response was "take as many pictures as you can because you'll never see it again".
As I get older and mature I've come realize the best Happyness comes when you're happy for those you love and not when you're pursing your own happiness, it will find you. Yes I cried, I've come to realize I'm a damn sap. All in all yesterday was a great day.
In closing, seven years later, she could still pull off that dress.

Know that this site will keep me laughing. The picture of Yvonne is lovely. I am so happy for her. She truly deserves this. Matt says that you will never have hair as long as his. Remember, his was down to his waist at one time. Good luck with that. Love ya.

She was the prettiest & happiest I've ever seen her. Sounds like Matt has issued a challenge. Remind him I have all I need, time and a good hairdresser! IT'S ON!!!!
