The must see DVD of the Summer 2007 is NORBIT!  RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN to the nearest Blockbuster and grab a copy of .  If necessary bulldoze your way past everyone waiting longer than you and claim your copy.  I made a guy mad in the store last night because instead of waiting for the clerk to put a copy on the shelf I ASKED if one had come in needless to say I walked out with Norbit and not Night At The Museum (Thank God)!  My Mom wanted to see Night At .. but I told her Norbit was funnier.  It wasn't long into the movie that she was laughing out loud.  There has been a little controversy surround the movie because some feel the main character in the movie, RASPUTIA, (Norbit is not the main character) is a stereotypical depiction of black women.  I thought long and hard about it and I disagree.  We ALL know a Rasputia no matter what color you are or socioeconomic background.   Rasputia is big, bold and KNOWS she has it going on.  She is dressed to the 9's (her choices are questionable), hair is done (90% of the time, see the movie)  and says whats on her mind.  That being said it's also very obvious she's insecure, doesn't like being alone and craves attention.  Ok all the Dr. Phill stuff out the way.  My friend KeKi and I went to see it in the theaters earlier this year.  I laughed so hard I knew for sure I'd have a sore throat the next day.  I wont give anything away but if you have to go to the restroom or get up for a snack press pause when she and Norbit get in the car or during the amusement park scene.  I haven't seen any thing that funny in a while.  Watch the movie, enjoy the movie.  Rasputia is a character not a indictment.  With everything thats gone on in the world in the past couple of months weall need a laugh and this movie will provides more than enough.  Come back and let everyone know what you thought.
