Back In New York Again
Well I am writing this after another relaxing, wonderful weekend in New York. The effect this place has on me never ceases to amaze me. The food, the sights, the smells (some good quite a few bad) and the overall experiences. Of course I stayed with Dembitchy and of course it was interesting to say the least. One of the highlights of this visit was eating out at SUSHI SAMBA. The first time I heard of Sushi Samba was an episode of Sex & The City (Samantha threw a drink in Richard Wrights face there) and when I was here over New Years I almost peeded on myself when I saw it was a real restaurant. The food was very good, a hybrid of Brazilian and Japanese cuisine. They have great spicy salmon rolls. Jeff and I ran up a hefty bill (which I plan on scanning and posting a copying of later) we had to laugh. Jeff as usual offered to pay I told him I wasn't going to ask twice to chip in but he insisted (as usual). I did pick up the tab the rest of the time we went out to level things out. I did something this time I've wanted to do for almost 15 years, go to the movies in Times Square at the mammoth AMC 25. I will tell you it was the first time my fear of heights kicked in going to a movie. That theater is HUGE. We saw UNTRACEABLE (I'll post and entry on the movie shortly) which was excellent. Jeff gave me shit about texting in the movie, I don't know why HE KEPT FALLING ASLEEP! Although all the computer, internet and techie lingo in the movie eventually kept him awake. After the movie we walked over to the Metropolitan Opera (thats where the picture below was taken) where Jefferey and Miguel went to see Hansel and Gretel. We thought Michael wasn't going to make it at one point and Jeffery said that I'd have to go in his place, NAWT! As you can see my black ass was not dressed for the opera. I don't mind being stared at (obviously not, 6'4 decked out in Superman gear) but I know whats appropriate. I was supposed to the leave the next day, didnt make it because I'm still learning the train system. I got to hang out with Kathy,Suzanne and Maya (Jeffereys roomate, her girlfriend and the puppy) who are cool as hell. Kathy recently migrated to NY from California. She has the coolest job, she can work from home in her pj's at times!I remember those days. Suzanne is cool as hell, yes I think all New Yorkers are pretty cool but I really liked her (love the accent). I was going to go to Central Park before I left BUT SOMEONE GAVE ME BAD DIRECTIONS! Like I live in New York and know the subway, but it wasnt a total loss I did get one final spin through Times Square (I love that place) before heading back to reality. It was a needed change of scenery. Im looking forward to the end of the month b/c take a wild guess on where I'll be going!? This time I'll be traveling my insane co-worker from NY on the chinese bus. That will be interesting!
Almost forgot I had my first celebrity encounter, I'll write about it in the next entry!
.
It amazes me that I look so much better when I take pictures in New York.
I'm feeling the outfit!

The funny thing is you think I gave you bad directions by accident. It was all a part of my evil, master plan. That plan... to make you grow up and figure the lay of the land out for yourself!! I am NOT your daddy or freakin' mapquest! Thank God for www.hopstop.com!
