If you thought Dembitchy's dancing was bad
On Wednesday evenings, I like to hang out with at XES Lounge. At 10:00 PM, they show the new episode of Project Runway, one of my favorite Bravo reality series. Standing there in some horribly put together outfit with my friend Jeremy, we usually have the audacity to critique the designers' creations. We don't really critique the outfits as experts, just from the layperson perspective. Once Project Runway is over, the real fun begins. Without fail, I see people start to funnel in to the bar as Project Runway is finishing so that they will be able to sing karaoke. In the three or four weeks that I have been going to the bar, I have not had the nerve to go up and sing anything on my own. I am more of a loud, unmicrophoned background singer. This past Wednesday, Jeremy's boyfriend Steven joined us at the bar. Steven and I were discussing some of his favorite songs from movies that might make good karaoke selections. We came up with 'Together in Electric Dreams' by Human League, and one of the most remade songs of all time, 'I'm Not in Love' by 10cc. Steven, proclaiming that he was tone deaf, would not sing either of these on stage. Instead, he tried coaxing me into performing for the lounge. The sad thing was, I actually contemplated getting up there and singing. Steven really wanted to hear 'Together in Electric Dreams,' but I couldn't remember the melody of the song. My only option would have been 'I'm Not in Love.' Lucky for me and everyone in the lounge, it was late and I really couldn't wait around to get up and sing. When I got home, I downloaded both of the songs we had discussed, by the artists we had discussed, from iTunes. I decided I would 'audition' myself by playing the songs through my iPhone and singing along with them to my MacBook, recording through iMovie. Performing at home this way gave it that karaoke feeling. You can hear my voice over the song in the background, whereas if I had played it on the stereo or straight from the MacBook, you wouldn't really be able to appreciate my beautiful vocal interpretation. I auditioned both songs and played them back for myself. OH MY GOD!!! It was HORRIBLE. So horrible, I can't even put those auditions up for you. However, I did save one additional song that I auditioned for myself. It was a song I THOUGHT I might perform better. Ummm, I was still wrong. But, believe it or not, what you are about to see is the best one of my three auditions. I can't believe I am about to share this with the world. If you thought my dancing was bad, wait until you get a load of this. Steven, you have NOTHING on being tone deaf!

Watching this entry is the most painful thing I've endured in years. Can you have any LESS emotion. You're like those insane people on American Idol.
