Fashionable Surprise

Today was a good day.  Today I got a little more acquainted with New York and I must say, I'm falling in love!  I initially started out going to the Central Park Zoo but by the time I go there I didn't think I'd be able to spend the time I wanted there so I headed into the concrete jungle and I am so glad I did.  I literally stumbled onto the CHANEL and VERSACE stores.  I didn't go in for 2 reasons 1) I was not in the mood to be followed around the store (if have to think for a even .05 of a second you're insane) 2) I don't like what I cant afford to buy, YET!  The Chanel window had major attitude, Karl Legerfeld (Chanel's long term head designer and undisputed genius) still has the touch.  The pictures don't do it justice, it was like looking at a 3-D painting.  After the shock wore off and I realized that I looked as much like a tourist as the Japanese tourist ahead of me (who pissed me off because they were taking forever) I walked a little further and came across a window with three of the most beautiful
wedding dresses I've seen in a while.  As a rule I could care less about wedding dresses but if a dress has one trait it'll catch my eye, if it looks like a cake.  I know that sounds crazy but I've seen cakes that have been made to look like dresses and if you can make sugar, eggs and food coloring look like a dress than a dress has no excuse for not looking good enough to eat!  I didn't get the designers name, probably because I was hungry, sorry.  So I walked a little further to find food but instead I found VERSACE.  Versace to me is the epitome of sexy, sleek, you've arrived fashion.  I have one pair of AUTHENTIC jeans that I nearly developed a eating disorder to fit in (I may have to develop it to get into them now).  I will say the two men at the door were polite and didn't give me that "you know damn well you cant afford anything in here look" (they were brothas) but I decided to stop at the window for today.  All in all today was a great day.  Things like what happened today are the reason I love this city, there's a surprise around every corner.  You can see the photos from today from on my photo site, just follow the link at the top right hand corner under Blog's and Websites titled: Coleys Online Photo Album.
