The McCains on The View: September 12, 2008
Today on The View, the guest were Senator John McCain and his wife Cindy McCain. Now, I am not a huge Barbara Walters fan but today Ms. Walters was in rare form and came out swinging! I don't think The McCain's were prepared for the questions that the panel posed. Barbara hit on reform (McCain's claim that he chose his running mate because of a record of reform), abortion, negative ad's and of course Sara Palin. I was pleasantly surprised that Elizabeth didn't drool all over him, after Barbara, Joy did the most talking, Whoopi and Sherri surprisingly talked the least. But Whoopi didn't disappoint, when questioning McCain about the Constitution and abortion/Roe v Wade, Senator McCain agreed that she had a valid point. What I found most interesting was when Cindy McCain was asked about her position on abortion in cases of rape and incest she said she supported a womans right to choose in those cases. She was asked that question because Sara Palin does not believe a woman should have the right to choose in those cases. She was also slightly irritated when asked about the number of homes they have, she didn't answer. I have to give it to the ladies of The View, there are days when I shake my head and think what are they doing, but days like today they ask the questions that the ALL of us want the answers to. My favorite part is in when McCain proposes a conversation with Obama on The Viewand Barbara responds "let us talk to Sara Palin and we'll ask him" TOUCHE Ms. Walters. Maybe Rosie and Star Jones were wrong when they hinted that Barbara was loosing it?
