Sarah Palin Cant Name a Supreme Court Case (Besides Roe v Wade)

Jeff posted this entry the other night after watching a portion of Sarah Palins interview with Katie Couric : http://myexerciseinfutility.com/2008/10/sarah-palin-is-a-fucking-idiot/. I told him I thought the title was harsh but I don't disagree that shes a light weight when it comes to political topics in comparison to McCain, Obama and Biden.  Not naming the publications she claims to have read is suspect and the bullshit excuse some in her party are throwing around (if she named a specific publications it would cause a spike in sales that would be unfair to other publications) is not helping her cause.

Well I just watched another part of the interview and yet again Governor Palin has given Tina Fey material for Saturday Night Live.  When Katie Couric asked her what other major Supreme Court Decisions was she familiar with besides Roe v Wade SHE COULDNT ANSWER! Thats insane. Elected officials should know certain things and major Supreme Court Decisions are one.  If this question had been asked of McCain, Obama or Biden and they couldn't they would be ripped to shreds and rightfully so.  Im not an attorney, never studied law but I know about Brown v/s Board of Education, Dred Scott and US v/s Nixon.  Now to be honest last night when Jefferey and I were discussing this I had a hard time remembering the Dred Scott case because the damn Sylvester Stallone movie Judge Dredd pops in my head.  Unfortunately the average American may not be able to name a case (I'll fix that with the next entry) but our elected officials should know these things.

I cant wait to see what excuses/explanations are cooked up to smooth over her latest gaffe.
