** Update, Larger Picture ** Blackberry Storm: Touch Screen Blackberry

Thanks to a good friend of mine here is a better picture the new Blackberry Storm.  The Blackberry Storm will be RIM's first venture into the touch screen market.  Based on seven years of experience with mobile phones and PDA's  I am not a fan of touch screen devices.  Touch screen devices tend to be problematic and have a shorter lifespan than non-touchscreen devices.  I will say I have been impressed by the Apples iPhone.  My roommate Jeff and friend Will both have one and I have yet to hear a complaint about the device or any operational complaints. That says a lot because they are nuttier than I am about their devices.  I am anxious to see hear feedback and see how the launch goes.  I will say if you decided to purchase one the same rule applies to electronics as with cars, wait.  Give the manufacturer at least a month get the technical bugs worked out.  You never want to be the first witha new toy, you'll usually end up the first to be pissed!

I haven't decided if I am going to get the BlackBerry Bold or if I'm going to switch carriers (for business use) and try this one out. In regards to a BlackBerry device, I am not certain that a touch screen is appropriate - but depending on what the Verizon Wireless return policy is - I may give it a try...
