Janet's Back: MAKE ME, The New Janet Jackson Video

The Janet Jackson we fell in love with over 20 years ago is back and sounding better than ever.  Since Michaels passing Janet has immersed herself back into her work and produced what Janet does best, a song that bangs in the club, bumps in the car and sticks in your head, MAKE ME.  Janet's last good CD was THE VELVET ROPE, DAMITA JO and 20 Y.O were no where near the near (and were below) the Janet standard. DISCIPLINE, Janet's last CD, produced the single FEEDBACK and that was the first song from Janet in years that sounded like the Janet that told us to address her as "Miss Jackson if ya Nasty." Janet is working with Rodney Jerkins  in addition to reuniting with the dream team of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and quietly resigning with her first record label A&MJimmy Iovine, the head of A&M records, has reportedly mandated that Janet's forthcoming 2010 album be top priority at the label and an artist of Janet's stature deserves such treatment. With the death of her brother it brings to light that there are few real stars left in the sky.

Janet is opening American Music Awards  tonight (8PM EST on ABC)  and is reportedly performing a medley of her hits in addition to her latest single Make Me.  In light of her great loss (and the end of her 7 year relationship with Jermaine Dupri) I hope Janet enjoys a resurgence in popularity and takes her place back at the top of the charts around the world. And to all those who will say she's too old or her time is up I will close with one word CHER.

Take a look at Janet's new video below for the single Make Me. The video is reminiscent of Scream, the duet with her brother Michael. A black and white spectacle that features her and her dancers making moves in a futuristic bubble type setting. I like it, I like it A LOT!
